Welcome Dr. Scott Tseng

We are excited to welcome Dr. Tseng to TRA!

Dr. Tseng joins our neuroradiology team with a passion for solving complex clinical questions through advanced imaging. What drew Dr. Tseng to neuroradiology was the unique opportunity to provide answers when patients are unable to communicate for themselves. Whether identifying the cause of sudden neurological symptoms or reassuring providers that a patient’s condition is not related to an acute neurological process, Dr. Tseng values the important role imaging plays in guiding patient care.

One of the most rewarding aspects of radiology for Dr. Tseng is the ability to change the course of a patient’s treatment. Like many radiologists, there are cases that stand out where imaging revealed an unexpected diagnosis, shifting the clinical team’s understanding of a patient’s condition and leading to a completely different treatment plan. Being able to provide those critical answers—even when they come as a surprise—is one of the most fulfilling parts of the profession.

Looking toward the future, Dr. Tseng is excited about the growing role of artificial intelligence and advanced information processing in radiology. While AI continues to transform workflows across the specialty, Dr. Tseng also sees tremendous potential in low-field MRI technology. From a neuroradiology perspective, expanded access to low-field MRI could significantly reshape stroke imaging by offering new possibilities in locations where the technology is available.

Outside of work, Dr. Tseng has an international background, considering Kaohsiung, Taiwan, a central part of home after moving frequently throughout childhood. One favorite memory is enjoying refreshing fruit juices made from fresh fruit, shaved ice, and sugar—a welcome treat in Taiwan’s tropical climate.

A seasoned traveler, Dr. Tseng has also become something of an expert in frequent flyer programs and travel rewards after many years of crossing the Pacific. It’s a skill developed through experience that has proven surprisingly useful over the years.

When reflecting on the people who have shaped the journey to becoming a physician, Dr. Tseng finds it impossible to name just one. From undergraduate education through fellowship, a series of dedicated teachers and mentors each played an important role in influencing the path that ultimately led to a career in neuroradiology.
