TRA Medical Imaging Foundation
TRA Medical Imaging is proud to have over 100 years of experience delivering the highest quality medical imaging services to the community. The TRA Medical Imaging Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit entity, was created with the mission and vision to be an exemplary community partner in promoting better health and wellbeing now and for future generations. Through the generosity of a giving community and philanthropic support of caring and committed donors, TRA Medical Imaging Foundation works to “give back” by supporting and promoting advancements in healthcare and education for those with whom they share this beautiful region.
There is an immediate need for Radiology Technologists and Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in our community and across the country. There is also not enough information at the secondary education level (high school) to inform and encourage students of the opportunities and the steps to prepare for these high-demand opportunities in the healthcare field. TRA Medical Imaging Foundation serves to promote advancements in healthcare and education by raising awareness of imaging technologists as healthcare career tracks, providing financial scholarships, mentoring, job shadowing, and paid internships.
Consistent with its mission, TRA Medical Imaging Foundation established a scholarship program for students enrolled in Tacoma Community College’s Radiologic Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. This program is a catalyst for career growth, mentoring, and employment with a significant emphasis on applicants from diverse backgrounds and needs. The Education Fund provides guidance and financial scholarships that can change the lives of students and meet the future needs in this high-demand field.
A vital part of community outreach is our collaboration with Tacoma Schools HealthCare Careers Academy and the YMCA. Our partnership with these organizations is serving to raise awareness of Radiologic Imaging as a career option. Our intent is to reach out to youth that may be considering a career path in healthcare and provide resources and information about this Radiologic Imagining as a career.
As the TRA Medical Imaging Foundation grows, it is our goal to expand more education and opportunities in CT, MRI, and Mammography, to create jobs, address the workforce shortage, and impact the quality of healthcare services in our community.
