Welcome Dr. Bartley
We are excited to welcome Dr. Bartley to TRA!
Dr. Bartley joins our nuclear medicine team with a strong interest in the connection between physiology, imaging, and technology. His journey into the field was influenced by a memorable mentor during medical school and supported by his background in computer science, which naturally aligned with nuclear medicine’s long-standing role as a digitally driven specialty.
Nuclear medicine stands apart in radiology by focusing on how the body is functioning rather than anatomy alone. For Dr. Bartley, one of the most meaningful parts of his work is helping clinicians and patients gain a clearer understanding of disease processes through this functional perspective—insight that can directly support diagnosis and treatment planning.
He also acknowledges the complexity of the specialty. Because nuclear medicine findings can sometimes be less specific, a key part of his work involves helping bridge imaging results with real-world clinical decision-making. He views this challenge as an important opportunity to continue improving how imaging contributes to patient care.
Dr. Bartley is particularly enthusiastic about ongoing advancements in the field, including the use of large datasets and artificial intelligence such as machine learning and neural networks. These tools are helping drive innovation in radiotracer development and opening the door to more precise diagnostic and therapeutic options.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Bartley enjoys flying, programming, and supporting his wife in her accomplishments. If he hadn’t pursued medicine, he would likely have followed a path in biomedical engineering, focused on developing medical devices at the intersection of healthcare and technology.
We are proud to have Dr. Bartley as part of TRA and look forward to the expertise and perspective he brings to our patients and community.
